1. Far away from residential areas
2. Close to supply of water
3. Available natural resources
4. Close to market or roadside where eggs can be sold
There are a few things that needs to be taken into account while selecting the location for duck farming:
1 Choose a location that is far enough from residential area, to prevent spreading diseases and unpleasant smell from the farm, as well as avoiding loud noises which can cause stress for the ducks.
2 A water source should be close by, especially to supply drinking water for the ducks.
3 Natural food source (such as tuber and papaya leaves) should be largely available, to reduce dependence on artificial food.
4 Close enough to local market where the eggs can be sold.
