  • Dry leaves and branches for 2-3 days.

8. Process Crop

There are steps that need to be done after harvesting, such as:

a)      After patchoulis are harvested, dry the leaves and stems of those patchoulis on the ground or by hanging them. Drying is done for 2 – 3 days but do not let it get too dry to avoid losing the oil content.

b)      The next step is to chop/slice all parts of the leaves and branches to little pieces, with a maximum length of 5 cm per branch so it is easier to extract the oil during distillation process.
